About H.V. Amos Insurance

History

The business was set up in 1928 by Horace Amos who traded from premises in Lower Lichfield Street, Willenhall. He transacted household insurance with a small amount of private car insurance, and within a few years built up a large personal Lines Insurance Brokerage. At the same time he was developing a Commercial Lines Brokerage by arranging insurance for local shops and factories in the Willenhall vicinity. He very soon extended his business to the other towns of the west midlands area.

Early in the 1930's he moved office to the Shepwell Green Area of Willenhall where the business continued to grow until his death in 1949. Then his son, Eric Amos, curtailed his career in the army to take over the running of the Business.

The success story of the business continued in so much that larger premises were needed and in 1960 the office moved to Walsall street in the centre of Willenhall, where Eric continued to trade until his retirement in 1984.

In 1994 we moved our present home in Upper Lichfield Street where we continue to give personal service to our many clients throughout the West Midlands.

In 2004 we took over the other respected insurance intermediary in the area, Willenhall Insurance Services, not only increasing our presence in the area but adding further experienced staff to help our aim of giving quality service to our clients old and new.
